Before you click the link below, let me remind you that you already know the narrative: a woman, “under the influence of an unknown substance” does not want to surrender her children to her ex-husband for visitation. There is a dispute and the woman locks herself in a room with her child. Someone calls the police. The police come, “talk the woman down” as they say in the movies, and cart her off for a medical evaluation, maybe a prison stay.
Before you click on the link below, I offer you the luxurious pearly detail of this narrative: the ”woman” is Britney Spears and the “ex-husband” is Kevin Federline (technically his bodyguard, but that K-Fed has/needs a bodyguard is a WHOLE other post). I present you also a quote from this story, which you may interpret as you see fit. “In addition to multiple officers, fire trucks, two ambulances and a police helicopter were all on the scene.”
I have no idea as to what any of this “means” or says about you, me, Britney, K-Fed, the LAPD, or the American populace. Like the Wizard of Oz, I am giving you only what you already have.

New York City recently banned trans fats from meals served in restaurants (starting next summer). Because we have nothing else to discuss (I mean, the world is so boring right now), New Yorkers have staked out strong opposing positions on the matter.
Read more about trans fats here
Is it a necessarily public health measure (after all, trans fats are incredibly bad for you), taken by a responsible city council?
Or is another example of the government nannying us? Not letting us making our own decisions?
What does everyone think? Lets get some serious audience feedback today.

But so is everything else on this blog, although we do seem to be getting into media criticism a bit here and there.

The freedom tower, not be confused with freedom fries, freedom kissing or freedom anal (ask George Michaels if you need clarification) is indeed French. The steel being used is manufactured in Luxembourg. Ok ok some of you “blogosphere fact checkers” may try and Rather-Gate me, so i’ll beat you to it: Luxembourg is not France. Fine, i’ll admit that. But you know what? I’ll call a spade a spade, even when said spade is a dirty, trilingual, flip-flopping immigrant homeland. They’re culturally French, that’s all I gots ta say.

This article is really interesting, but what makes my day is this line:
“After years of extensions sought by federal agencies behaving like college students facing a term paper…”

As a journalist I want the best news spoon fed to me each night at 6:30. BUT who, WHO to pick as I don’t have tivo or any of those luxuries?
Well really it’s a two-horse race, let’s face it, Katie Couric might as well be replaced with Kimmy Gibbler, or “The Gibbler” to us who know her the best.
So the greatest question that faces man today: Charley Gibson vs Brian Williams.
Williams’ NBC team, no lie, said this tonight as a walkoff to the presumed dead mountain climbers in Oregon:
Classless Repoter: “The search has cost over $100,000 and by Oregon law the family doesn’t have to pay the bill — The taxpayer does”
WHAT?! Oh let’s feel bad for the taxpayer because the two young wifes and their families don’t need to foot the bill for their husband’s unfortunate, painful and drawn-out death.
Charlie, I’ll be seeing you tomorrow at 6:30, don’t let me down or I swear I’ll subscribe to Al Jazeera or whatever channel Danny-Boy Rather is on now.

OK, not really.
But tell me, doesn’t this article have some similarities (granted, it is 10 times better) to the one I wrote last Monday?
Also, “Grups” is the stupidest name I’ve ever heard. Sceniors is so much better.

The last line is simply brilliant. Could Saturday Night Live be funny again?
